Money is the root of all evil, - Please won't you give me some? Money is the root of all evil, - Please won't you give me some? When I get home when the day is done Money is the root of all evil, - Please won't you give me some? Time is the source of all our troubles, - Please won't you give me some? &c. Love is just hard work & hassle... - Please won't you give me some? &c. [slide whistle incident] Family is the rock we break upon... - Please won't you give me some? &c.

Barn Song 04:25
You ought to be an island with palm trees for your clothes; I'd row out and sleep on you when I'm in need of some repose. You ought to be a chestnut tree, or a willow by the brook; I'd climb up in your branches and read an ancient book. You ought to be a mountaintop ablaze in autumn's fire; and I could be the little towns with hills, and fields, and spires and let you be the mountain. You ought to be an ancient pier connecting sea and land; nobly greying in the sun, returning into sand. Or maybe you're just an old barn full of useful things; watching as the spring turns into summer into autumn into winter into spring . . .

Powerline 07:04
Well way down yonder in the great big city They got electric lights so pretty, They got walk-in coolers with 49 flavors of beer. But all they talk about is sustainable power, How they wanna buy about a billion kilowatt hours, Build a great big tower & pipe it right through here: ~ Let's build a powerline! ~ ~ Let's build a powerline! One hundred forty miles! ~ Let's build a powerline! One hundred feet tall! ~ Let's build a powerline! Two hundred feet wide! ~ Let's build a powerline! Right through your town line... (I wouldn't put it in mine!) ~ Let's build a powerline! ~~ Let's build a powerline! Well my great-grandmammy started this farm, built it up with the muscle of her arm, Down through the years they passed it on to me. Now a man pulls up in a government truck, says, "Hey sonny, you're in luck! You get to sign away your right away to me, and here's what you're gonna see: ~ We'll build a powerline! ~ ~ Let's build a powerline! &c. Right through your property line! Way up north where the cold winds shiver, they got a machine turning 'round the river, Gonna make it flow backwards over and under the land. That's green power for me, green power for you, but if you're the Cree or the Caribou, Like the rivers and the mountains and the fish you can all be DAMMED RIGHT UP! ~ We're building powerlines! ~ ~ Let's build a powerline! &c. Right through your trapline! If you want fish, look to the water. If you want water, look to the mountains. If you want mountains, look to the forest. It's in our hands, it's in our hands. Now I just wanna ask you and plant the seed: Is more new power really what we need To run our coolers in the winter And our porchlights night and day? Because we can kill a river just to fill a machine, We can call it sustainable, even paint it green, But we just can't wipe the ugly truth away. If you want fish, look to the water. If you want water, look to the mountains. If you want mountains, look to the forest. It's in our hands, it's in our hands.

Round and round the words go round They circle round my head, I woke up worried this morning, The words were in my bed, The words were in my bed.

"You could rule the world," he said, "Looking down from your throne, Your enemies all would scatter Or be left as bloody bones."

We're all in it together We're all in it together We're all in it together Whenever we change the weather The Big Boys give us a poison pie We push the button, put it up in the sky We're all in it together Whenever we change the weather See that sea level risin' Feel your boat capsizin' We're all in it together Whenever we change the weather Whether you're rich or whether you're poor Whether you live in the mountains or down by the shore Whether you grow your groceries or buy at the store Your life's gonna change to the very core We're all in it together Whenever we change the weather

I never even checked the map, I couldn't say where I was at...

I went up on the mountain to give my horn a blow, Thought I heard a pretty girl say, "Yonder comes my beau!"

Big Blue 02:57
If I lived beside the ocean I would not be standing here; I would get up in the morning, grab my coffee, grab my gear; Take my truck down to the water and put some bait upon my hook. I would not go to the diner, I would catch a fish to cook. Big blues running in November, icy wind upon my face; Sitting here I still remember summer flounders' tender taste. Sitting here I still remember when to you my heart confessed That I loved you more than ever, and I kissed your heaving breast. As I sit here on my perch upon my pickup in the tide I see the wooden ships come close and hear their ghostly sailors cry. Crying from the rigging to the turbid waters down below -- Two-hundred years ago they knew a killing wind was gonna blow. North wind coming from New England pierce my skin and sinews through To frozen bones and icy fingers, trembling as I think of you Standing by the window as the sun lights up the sound And reflects upon you standing in your lacy morning gown. Ah, but I don't live beside the ocean; and that is why I'm standing here. I still get up in the morning, grab my coffee, grab my gear. Leave my heart home on the shelf and disconnect my sensing wires, And watch the dying embers from my life's once raging fires. No -- I'm gonna live beside the ocean, or maybe by some mountain stream; I'll catch fish off of my back porch; and I want you all to come and visit me.
